At MKBC, we save lives every day by providing blood products to hospitals in PA and NJ. The Lead Staff (Lead Phlebotomist) position supports the Blood Center by collecting blood donations (blood and blood products) safely from volunteer donors in a compassionate and professional manner. The Lead Staff ensures all staff are following procedures and representing the Blood Center in the best way possible. The anticipated salary starts at $21.28 per hour and is commensurate with experience. In addition, Miller-Keystone offers the following to all full-time employees:

What you will be doing:
  • Lead, Mentor, Train and be a Role Model for the Fixed Site
  • Ensure staff provide Excellent Customer Service
  • Actively plans, prioritizes, sets goals, and establishes staff assignments and communicates shift expectations for staff.
  • Responsible for all activities, supplies, and equipment required for a successful collection event and ensures events operate safely, smoothly, and efficiently.
  • Review daily QC for accuracy and completion.
  • Ensures staff follows all policies and procedures

What you will bring to the role:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Phlebotomy Certification is strongly preferred.
  • 1 years' experience as a Phlebotomist is required.
  • 2 years' experience as a Team Lead in a healthcare setting is required.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and persons tactfully and professionally.
  • Excellent ability to understand and use software relevant to the position.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions, seeking guidance as necessary.

Additional information: This position reports directly to the Donor Collections Manager
From 7am - 3pm and 12pm - 8pm Reading Fixed Site hours
To best meet the needs of our donors and community, staff work a variable schedule which may include early mornings, late nights, and on-call to cover weekends and holidays.
A schedule is provided two weeks in advance.
