We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Licensed Phlebotomist to join our medical team. As a Licensed Phlebotomist, your primary responsibility will be to draw blood from patients for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and reliable laboratory results, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment decision.
- Perform blood draws and other specimen collections on patients of all ages, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Greet and interact with patients
- Verify patient identity and confirm the requisition orders before initiating the blood collection process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper disposal of biohazardous materials and adherence to infection control procedures.
- Label and record specimens accurately, ensuring proper documentation of collected samples for tracking and testing purposes.
- Handle and transport specimens appropriately to the laboratory, ensuring timely delivery for analysis.
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment, identifying and reporting any malfunctions or issues.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate specimen collection schedules and provide necessary support for patient care.
- Update patient records and maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical information.
- Stay informed on latest compliance standards with phlebotomy best practices, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Educational Requirement:Â
- Valid California Phlebotomy Technician License (CPT)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience as a Phlebotomist, showcasing strong blood-drawing skills and proficiency in various venipuncture techniques.
Other Qualification & Requirements:
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures related to specimen processing.
