Valley Medical Group is looking for a Resource Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team and work in our Easthampton and Northampton health centers. If you are looking for a dynamic environment, this is your opportunity!

Position: Resource Phlebotomist

Location: Easthampton

Hours: 40 hours, Monday-Friday generally between 6:30am - 3:30pm. Hours may vary depending on department needs. Exact schedule to be discussed at time of interview.

As a Resource Phlebotomist, the candidate must have the ability to collect blood from patients of all ages through venipuncture. A successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, good customer service skills, and be proficient in computers, data entry, and the operation of equipment. Additional responsibilities will include acting as a resource phlebotomist for co-workers, including performing training for new and current staff as directed by the Phlebotomy Coordinator or Lab Manager. In this position you will also be responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies for the draw stations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collecting samples from patients of all ages
  • Processing and accessions of clinical specimens
  • Checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, answering phones, greeting patients

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program
  • Previous customer service or medical office experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPT preferred, but not required
  • EMR experience preferred, Athena experience a plus
