Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Sonographer to perform adult echocardiography studies in a premiere cardiac center, requiring documented inpatient echo experience and strong Doppler/valvular assessment skills.

  • Cardiac OR/echocardiography unit within a premiere cardiac center
  • Adult patient population
  • Performs high quality Adult Echo studies per ASE & IAC Guidelines
  • Utilizes Philips ie33 and Epiq systems (preferred experience)
  • Epic EMR used for charting
  • AM shift, 4x10-hour days per week, Thursday through Sunday 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • 40 hours per week
  • No on-call requirement
  • Potential to float to a sister hospital nearby
Requirements
  • Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI
  • Current BLS certification from AHA
  • Active NJ license required if applicable
  • Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases via institutional referral
  • Dedicated inpatient echo work experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
  • Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills
  • Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies
  • Ability to work independently and quickly respond to critical findings
  • TEE and Stress Echo experience preferred
  • Familiarity with 3D echo imaging preferred
  • Experience with TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols preferred
  • Familiarity with Epic hospital information system preferred
Additional Information
  • Prepares patients for examination, explains procedures, and monitors patients throughout the process
  • Sets up equipment and administers procedures in a timely fashion
  • Reviews prior reports, images, and patient charts before exams
  • Ensures proper imaging techniques are employed and studies are complete before notifying the reader
  • Maintains exam records and logs
  • Maintains control of inventory and supply purchases for the assigned area
  • Helps maintain ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
  • Two references required for consideration
