Position Summary
Teach undergraduate and graduate (Master's level) courses, committee service and program leadership. Position will be responsible for teaching four (4) courses per semester, including large lecture sections of introductory statistics. Sufficient knowledge of statistical software, such as Python, R, and SAS, is required for teaching purposes. Experience with database management, Tableau and/or Power BI will also be beneficial.


Detailed Position Information
The Department of Information Systems, Statistics, and Management Science invites applications for an Instructor position in Applied Statistics that starts August 16, 2026. This position is a non-tenure track, three-year appointment that is renewable at the discretion of the University. Continuation of this appointment is dependent upon meeting the departmental and college performance standards and complying with all faculty and general UA employment policies. Sufficient knowledge of statistical software, such as Python, R and SAS, is required for teaching purposes. Experience with database management systems (SQL), Tableau and/or Power BI will also be beneficial.


Minimum Qualifications
A PhD in statistics, applied statistics, or a closely related field with appropriate teaching experience or a Master's degree in statistics, applied statistics, or a closely related field with extensive teaching and/or relevant work experience in statistics or a closely related field
Previous experience in teaching statistics and/or analytics related courses


Preferred Qualifications
PhD in statistics, applied statistics, or a closely related field Industry experience and/or knowledge of statistical applications, Experience teaching large course sections in statistics, or a closely related field Experience creating/developing new statistics/analytics course content.
