Description
Skyworks is looking for a Co-op student for Winter/Spring (January to June). In this internship opportunity, you will learn and participate in developing advanced, state-of-the-art RF front-end module, working with seasoned engineering professionals and collaborating with subject matter experts within Skyworks. Not only will you get to know how things work in industry, but you will also accumulate advanced technical knowledge and skills, valuable experience as well as exploring full-time job opportunities at Skyworks. Responsibilities
• Working with experienced engineers to design/develop RF filters for multi-chip modules
• Designing BAW- and SAW-based duplexers, quadplexers, and other RF filters for cellular handset applications
• Electromagnetic modeling of filters in their module environment using design tools such as Ansys HFSS and Mechanical, Keysight ADS and Momentum, etc.
• Integrating multiple filters and duplexers together, in combination with RF switches, to facilitate carrier aggregation (CA)
• Designing evaluation boards and RF modules or portions thereof for optimal filter performance
• Participating and presenting in design reviews
• Assembling, measuring, deembedding, and reporting on the performance of filters and filter modules
• Troubleshooting and resolving design or technical issues
• Collaborating with other engineers and technicians
Required Experience and Skills
• Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD program
• Commitment to work onsite in Irvine for 6 months
• Strong desire to learn, grow and make impact
• Strong career interest in RF/microwave engineering, electromagnetics, RF filters, microwave acoustics, or RF MEMS
• Willing to share knowledge and collaborate with others
• Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook
• Experience with Ansys HFSS and Mechanical, Keysight ADS is highly preferred
• Hands-on experience in lab using network analyzer and other RF instruments is highly preferred
The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
