Job description

Wheaton College invites applications for part time Guest Instructor or Guest Assistant Professor in Physics or Engineering for the 2025-26 academic year.
The successful candidate will teach either one lecture or 1-2 labs in the undergraduate physics or engineering major curriculum. We seek applicants with a M.S. or Ph. D. in Physics, Astronomy, Engineering or a closely related field, who will engage a diverse student body with an active-learning model that challenges and supports each student. Previous teaching experience, including experience with evidence-based curricula and hands-on laboratory instruction, is highly valued. The ability to mentor physics and engineering majors and general education students in the integration of Christian faith with the life of the mind and the practice of physics and engineering is also an important component of this position.
Salary range: $935 per credit hour for a faculty member with an MA and fewer than 3 years of experience teaching at Wheaton - $1100 per credit hour for a faculty member with a PhD.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Interested individuals should send a curriculum vitae and a letter of interest that clearly articulates the candidate's approach to physics and engineering instruction and capacity to spiritually mentor students by drawing on his or her own experience in the Christian faith. Additional application materials will be mailed to promising candidates.
WHEATON COLLEGE is an evangelical Protestant Christian liberal arts college whose faculty and staff affirm a Statement of Faith and adhere to lifestyle expectations of the Wheaton College Community Covenant. Wheaton is an equal opportunity employer committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse and talented workforce and student body. We encourage the expression of multiple perspectives within a Christian worldview, inside and outside the classroom. For more information about Wheaton College visit www.wheaton.edu.
