Position Title: Middle School English and History Teacher
Location: Trivium Preparatory Academy, 2001 N Bullard Ave, Goodyear, AZ
Reports To: Headmaster
FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt

In Middle School Literature and Composition courses, you have the opportunity to engage students in an exploration of grammatical structures, literary devices, and the art of argument. In addition, you will guide students in discussing literature and poetry, which provide beautiful examples of language that conveys the heart of the human experience.
Middle School History Teacher
History courses offered are as follows:
  • Introduction to the American Tradition - 6th grade
  • Ancient History - 7th grade
  • Medieval History - 8th grade

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
  • Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
  • Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
  • Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Required/Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
  • Certification is not required for general education
  • All majors are welcome

US work authorization is required, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
