Terms of Employment
This is a 9 month position for 5.5 hours/day (plus 1/2 hour unpaid lunch). This position is not eligible for benefits. Pay is based on experience and/or education and ranges from $16.58 - $24.67.
Purpose
Assist students to attain reading skills at grade level. Work under the direction of the classroom teacher to assist individual students or small groups of students with learning tasks assigned by the teacher.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a classroom assistant desirable. Effective communication skills. Ability to take direction. Initiative and dependability in carrying out assignments. Patience and genuine interest in education of students. Awareness and respect for student diversity. Clerical skills, flexibility, and confidentiality required. Training for this position will be implemented upon hiring.
