Position Summary, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct fitness assessments and consultations to evaluate participant goals, fitness levels, and health history (as needed).
  • Design and implement individualized and small-group exercise programs based on participant needs and goals.
  • Instruct participants on proper exercise technique, equipment use, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor client progress and modify programs as appropriate.
  • Provide motivation, encouragement, and education to promote long-term health and wellness.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized fitness and training environment.
  • Enforce recreation center policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintain required certifications and participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development as requested.
  • Provide excellent customer service and foster positive relationships with participants and coworkers.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge of principles of exercise science, fitness programming, and injury prevention.
  • Ability to demonstrate and teach exercises clearly and safely.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate individuals of varying ages, fitness levels, and abilities.
