Position Summary

Salem Church of Darmstadt is a non-denominational Evangelical and Reformed congregation seeking a full-time Senior Pastor to serve as the primary spiritual leader, preacher, and shepherd of our church family. We are a stable, multi-generational congregation of approximately 300 members, gathering for two Sunday services with an active online presence. After 27 years of faithful ministry, our current pastor is retiring. We are prayerfully seeking a long-term leader who will honor our traditional Christian roots while guiding thoughtful, steady growth and community engagement.

About Our Church

Our congregation reflects a blend of long-standing senior members and younger families. We value

biblical preaching, relational leadership, doctrinal faithfulness, and a spirit of unity. We are financially

stable and hopeful about the future, while recognizing the importance of wise, patient leadership during

this transition. In the first year, we hope our next pastor will focus on building relationships, understanding our church culture, strengthening preaching ministry, and discerning together a path toward healthy and sustainable growth.

Core Responsibilities

Preaching and Teaching

· Deliver biblically grounded sermons (30-45 minutes) each Sunday for two services (8:00 am

and 10:00 am; streaming supported.)

· Administer baptisms (including infant baptism) and the sacraments consistent with our theology.

Pastoral Care

· Provide pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and support to members.

· Conduct weddings and funerals.

· Equip and oversee a volunteer care team.

· Provide premarital counseling and spiritual guidance, collaborating with referral resources

when specialized care is needed.

Leadership and Vision

· Provide Christ-centered leadership in partnership with the Church Council.

· Guard and teach sound biblical doctrine.

· Equip and empower lay leaders for ministry.

· Help discern and articulate a long-term vision for congregational health and growth.

Community Engagement

· Build relationships within the Darmstadt and greater Evansville community.
