Job description

Adjunct Faculty โ€“ Environmental Science

Adjacent faculty position in the College of Science and Health, Department of Environmental Science, teaching undergraduate courses online and/or in person.

Responsibilities
  • Develop relevant syllabi and course materials for up to six credits per semester based on the course outline.
  • Teach courses, utilizing a mix of inโ€‘person and online instruction as needed.
  • Provide consistent and effective support and guidance to students, contributing to their success through role modeling, mentoring, and timely availability for questions.
  • Assess learning outcomes and align assessment methods with course objectives.
Qualifications
  • Required: Ph.D., JD, or Masterโ€™s degree in a related discipline, and ability to teach online.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated professional activity within the discipline (e.g., academic or industry experience), experience teaching both online and in person, and published peer or nonโ€‘peer reviewed articles, conference papers, blogs, or books.

Compensation

Adjuncts receive a perโ€‘credit rate: $2,100 per credit for new employees and $2,175 per credit for those with 13+ semesters at WP.
