Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst level 2 or 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Roy, UT to support the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division - Sentinel. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
This position may be filled at a higher level based on qualifications below.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Maintain the division EVMS compliant scheduling processes across an assigned element operations to include MS Project Server and Oracle Primavera P6 environments and all program phases from early investment through sustainment and deactivation.
  • Support specific IPT team activities including but not limited to: program support personnel, proposal and strategy support and specific program planning and scheduling activities in support of monthly deliverable (IPMDAR) generation.
  • Ensure the scheduling implementation meets the reporting requirements along with providing analysis on metrics to provide insight into process excellence and continual improvement.
  • Provide day-to-day support to assigned element IPT team with guidance, troubleshooting, and satisfying programmatic requirements.
  • Advise program business managers on integrating project schedules with Earned Value Management and support internal and external reviews and audits.
  • Perform role on-site at the identified work location with minimal travel requirements.

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications Level 2
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience in Business, Aerospace and Defense, or related professional experience; a Master's degree with 1 year; or 6 years with a HS Diploma (or equivalent) may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • Experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Program Cost Analysis or Program Scheduling
  • Requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance (Secret, Top Secret; etc.)
  • Requires experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel
  • Experience with Cost / Schedule integration
  • Requires experience with MS Project OR P6 Primavera
  • 1+ years leading a project and/or driving performance against a schedule
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically 10% of the time

Basic Qualifications Level 3
  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 5 years; a master's degree and 3 years; a PhD with 1 year; or 9 years of experience may be accepted with a HS Diploma in lieu of a degree
  • Requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance (Secret, Top Secret; etc.)
  • Experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Program Cost Analysis or Program Scheduling
  • Requires experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel
  • Requires experience with MS Project, P6 Primavera, Deltek Open Plan, Deltek Cobra/MPM, Deltek Acumen, and/OR other Schedule Risk Assessment software tools
  • 1+ years of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • 1+ years leading a project and/or driving performance against a schedule.
  • Cost / Schedule integration
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications for both levels
  • Aerospace/Defense Industry Experience
  • Active DoD Secret level security clearance (with the investigation in the past 6 years)
  • 1+ years of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • 1+ years program planning activities and/or teams in an EVMS environment
  • 1+ years experience working in a Microsoft Project Server and/or Oracle Primavera P6
  • Experience in a DoD EMD environment
  • Experience with other EV and program planning tools and processes: Cobra, Acumen Fuse, Change Management, Risk Management
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical ability

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
