Job DescriptionSaint Luke's East is now seeking a Pharmacy Intern Year 1 to join their team!
  • MO Pharm Intern License required

  • 1 weeknight shift per week (after school) and 2 shifts every other weekend.

The Opportunity:

A year 1 Pharmacy Intern, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, performs all accountabilities associated with compounding, dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications to the patient. All activities are reviewed and validated for accuracy by a pharmacist, per the rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy, in an effort for the individual to gain practical pharmaceutical experience in preparation for licensure as a Pharmacist. Currently eligible for a pharmacy intern license through acceptance into an accredited school of pharmacy or pharmacy early assurance program or a pharmacy tech license.

The Work:

  • Pick, fill and deliver medication orders and Omnicell stock to appropriate locations

  • Fill first doses for new orders for patients

  • Prepack drugs and compound medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, and special dosage forms (topicals, oral liquids, etc.)

  • Answer the phone/ front window, and assist with questions and requests

  • Complete projects as needed that improve service and/or safety

  • Complete clinical student intern duties commensurate with pharmacy school education.
