Operations Manager

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

The Operations Manager provides leadership to information technology and automated pharmacy systems. Additionally, this position maintains and manages some of the pharmacy informatics as it relates to the EPIC and other essential systems in an effort to support safe medication use processes. The operations pharmacist, in conjunction with the staff, will oversee all pharmacy inventory throughout the institution and work with Pharmacy Leadership to ensure all pertinent financial goals are met. Finally, this position will serve as the direct supervisor/trainer for pharmacy staff and ancillary personnel working at UCI Health - Los Alamitos.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy with 5 years of experience
  • Residency training or 5 years' experience in a hospital setting
  • Possess a valid CA Pharmacists' license (maintain current at all times)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS or within 30 days of hire (maintain current at all times)
  • Previous clinical experience in a comparable pharmacy setting (usually 2-3 years)
  • Previous leadership or teaching experience in a comparable pharmacy setting (usually 2-3 years)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, MHA)
  • Pharmacy Residency or fellowship training
  • Advanced Certification or equivalent training (i.e. BCPS, BCOP, CGP, etc.)
  • Training in clinical informatics and/or other IT systems
  • Equivalent leadership experience or training
  • Experience with technology systems development, design, implementation
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office Suite
