As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
  • Prepare patients for exams andassistproviders during procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
  • Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Pay Structure: For Medical Assistants the pay starts between $22-23/hr. For LPN the pay starts between $24.50-25.50/hr. Pay is determined by experience and qualifications of the position. Leaders may be willing to offer more with prior direct experience in the role.

About This Location: Aurora Internal Medicine at 205 Valley Ave in West Bend, WI is part of the larger Aurora Health Center, a multispecialty outpatient clinic serving adult patients with comprehensive primary and internal medicine care. Services include preventive exams, chronic disease management, treatment of acute illnesses, health screenings, vaccinations, and care coordination. Patients also have convenient access to on-site specialty services, laboratory testing, imaging, and pharmacy services, creating a one-stop healthcare destination for the West Bend community.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twistfrequentlythroughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
  • Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch withabilityto use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
  • Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
  • Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must bewornas necessary.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
  • Physical Abilities Testing may berequired.
  • Additionaldepartment specific physical requirements may beidentifiedfor unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
