What You'll Do
As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll play an important role in keeping our pharmacy running smoothly. Responsibilities may include:
  • Assist pharmacists with the preparation and processing of prescriptions.
  • Accurately locate, count, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification.
  • Enter patient information and medication orders into the pharmacy system.
  • Assist with daily prescription filling and cycle filling.
  • Answer and screen incoming telephone calls and direct pharmacist-related questions appropriately.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, healthcare facilities, prescribers, and their authorized representatives.
  • Assist with obtaining prescription refill authorizations by phone or fax.
  • Prepare prescription labels, MARs, delivery lists, and other pharmacy documentation.
  • Utilize pharmacy software, technology, and medication packaging equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
  • Check in incoming medication and supply orders and ensure products are stocked appropriately.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with removing expired or outdated medications.
  • Assist with medication returns and inventory counts.
  • Maintain contingency medication supplies as required.
  • Help ensure owed medications are filled and resolved promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pharmacy workspace.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists and other pharmacy team members to maintain workflow.
  • Provide friendly, professional service to patients and pharmacy partners.
