Pharmacy Cashiersplay a vital role in supporting patient access to medications and pharmacy services at YVFWC. This role provides essential clerical, customer service, and medication support functions to help ensure patients receive accurate, timely, and safe pharmacy services. This position helps ensure smooth pharmacy operations and a positive patient experience.

Position Highlights:
  • 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
  • $24.01-$29.42/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates

What You'll Do:
  • Assist patients at the pharmacy counter by delivering prescriptions, collecting payments, and coordinating pharmacist counseling as needed
  • Enter and verify patient, prescription, and billing information accurately in pharmacy systems
  • Answer phones, respond to non - clinical inquiries, and route calls appropriately
  • Process prescription refills and assist with third - party billing and prior authorizations as allowed by state regulations
  • Support inventory management by restocking medications, checking expiration dates, and verifying incoming orders
  • Maintain pharmacy documentation and workflows in compliance with YVFWC, HRSA, and regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient care or customer service experience
  • Pharmacy Assistant state registration required within 60 days of hire (or active Pharmacy Intern License)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills preferred at a level 9
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast - paced environment
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy workflows
  • Experience using pharmacy software systems

Drug testing: This position requires testing for controlled substances before employment and will be subject to further testing throughout employment.
