Responsibilities:
The Pharmacy Consultant will support Barrow Wise's DHA project and perform the following duties:
  • Provide acquisition lifecycle support for the next-generation TRICARE pharmacy contract.
  • Perform advanced data analysis to inform optimization of the pharmacy benefit design and contract requirements.
  • Develop independent cost estimates for new contracts and contract requirements related to the pharmacy benefit.
  • Provide evaluation advisory services in support of the next generation TRICARE Pharmacy Contract, ensuring proposals meet commercial standards and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the delivery of the pharmacy benefit.
  • Facilitate collaboration in the development of DHA policy guidance that is compliant with applicable laws, regs, and policy and reflects industry standards and practices.
  • Support communications about the TRICARE pharmacy benefit to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop new Tricare Manual
  • Performing complex modelling and analysis related to the pharmacy program
  • Provide expertise on best practices and innovative approaches in the following areas: PBMs, pharmaceutical companies, pharmaceutical distribution, specialty pharmacy, healthcare systems, clinical pharmacy practices, and management of government and commercial pharmacy benefits.
  • Work remotely.

An ideal candidate has the following:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years related experience working in the pharmacy benefit space. Experience may include pharmacy benefits management operations and contracts, benefit design, pricing models, or clinical pharmacy practices.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Government administration of pharmacy benefits. DoD or VA experience is preferred.
  • Must possess an active pharmacy license
  • Excellent communication skills
