Job description

Overview

HYBRID role based at our non-dispensing pharmacy in Robinson Township, PA.

Being on medication is tough enough. We want to make getting it the easy part. Getting prescriptions to patients has become increasingly complex. When things get messy along the prescription journey, pharmaceutical manufacturers rely on us to untangle the process and create a clear path-allowing patients to build trusting relationships with their medication brands.

We're not only committed to taking the pain out of the prescription process, but we're also devoted to bringing the brightest minds together under one roof. We bring together diverse voices-engineers, pharmacists, customer service veterans, developers, program strategists and more-all with one vision. Each perspective and experience makes ConnectiveRx better than the sum of its parts.

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the clinical accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of prescription orders prior to dispensing. This role performs comprehensive prospective pharmacist verification (PV1) following data entry, validating patient information, medication orders, dosing, allergies, drug interactions, clinical appropriateness, and applicable regulatory requirements.

The Clinical Pharmacist collaborates with prescribers, pharmacy technicians, and dispensing pharmacy personnel to resolve discrepancies, optimize medication therapy, and promote safe, accurate, and timely prescription processing. Serving as the final clinical verification step before prescriptions are transferred to the dispensing pharmacy, this position plays a critical role in maintaining patient safety, quality assurance, and compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.

The Clinical Pharmacist is also responsible for reporting adverse events and other clinical incidents as required. This individual is expected to maintain a positive attitude and work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. All duties must be performed in compliance with HIPAA guidelines, state and federal laws, pharmacy standard operating procedures, work instructions, and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee Pharmacy Technician data entry activities for prescriptions received by Careform Pharmacy, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Perform pharmacist verification functions to ensure the appropriateness and accuracy of all prescriptions.
  • Manage prescription transfers from initiation through completion, ensuring pharmacy records are maintained in accordance with state and federal regulations and pharmacy standard operating procedures.
  • Contact healthcare provider offices by phone or fax to clarify missing, incomplete, or inaccurate prescription information.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with prescriber offices, dispensing pharmacies, and patients while adhering to pharmacy standard operating procedures.
  • Provide direction and supervision to Pharmacy Technicians and ancillary staff involved in pharmacy workflow activities.
  • Assist the Pharmacist in Charge by assigning workflow tasks to technicians and ancillary staff to meet quality and service expectations.
  • Support onboarding and training of new pharmacy associates.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
  • Maintain established quality assurance, security, and operational procedures within the pharmacy.
  • Report adverse events and other clinical incidents in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete all required training in a timely manner, including compliance training, corporate policies and procedures, pharmacy standard operating procedures, work instructions, product training, and pharmacovigilance training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation & Licensure
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Active Pharmacist license in the State of Pennsylvania in good standing.
  • Must maintain required continuing education credits approved by the Accreditation Council for Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) in accordance with state requirements.
Experience
  • One or more years of experience as a Pharmacist in a mail-order, retail, or specialty pharmacy environment preferred.
Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy software applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience with prescription processing, data accuracy validation, and patient safety practices.
  • Ability to navigate internet-based systems and resources.
Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Mathematical skills with the ability to apply basic arithmetic, conversions, fractions, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to evaluate prescription information for accuracy and clinical appropriateness.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Competencies
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to work across multiple software platforms, technology systems, and online resources.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to quality, compliance, and customer service.
Compliance Requirements
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and required training consistent with ConnectiveRx's Information Security and Compliance Programs, including but not limited to SOC1, SOC2, PCI, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Maintain strict compliance with company and client policies regarding business rules, ethics, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
