Join Our Surgical Team as a Dedicated Pre/Post-Op Registered Nurse (RN)!
Our established multi-specialty Ophthalmology group is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional pre and post-operative care. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and comfort, utilizing your expertise to monitor and respond to their needs throughout the surgical process.
Your Impact:
  • Comprehensive Pre-Op Care: Admit patients, conduct thorough assessments, and prepare them for surgery.
  • Post-Operative Monitoring & Care: Receive patients from surgery, evaluate their needs, and provide attentive post-operative care.
  • Accurate Patient Assessment & Documentation: Monitor and document patient status, ensuring clear and concise records.
  • Treatment Administration & Order Fulfillment: Carry out prescribed treatments and physician orders with precision.
  • Patient Education & Follow-Up: Provide clear post-operative instructions and conduct follow-up phone calls.
  • OR Log Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date operating room logs.
  • Sterile Environment Maintenance: monitor the sterile field.
  • Surgical Team Support: Assist anesthesia, scrub, and medical personnel to ensure smooth operations.
  • Equipment & Supply Management: Prepare and check OR equipment, supplies, and medications.

What You'll Bring/Requirements:
  • 4-year degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN license in the state of Connecticut.
  • Strong understanding of ophthalmic operative procedures and post-operative care.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pre-operative nursing care in an ambulatory surgery setting.
  • Understanding of medical pathophysiology and potential surgical complications.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceuticals and anesthetic agents.
  • Proficiency in fluid and electrolyte balance management.
  • Expertise in patient assessment, intravenous therapy, CPR, and artificial ventilation.
  • Ability to work in a sterile environment.
