ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary
This is a permanent direct hire opportunity for an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse. The ICU RN provides specialized nursing care to critically ill or unstable patients requiring advanced monitoring, life-support equipment, and complex medical interventions. ICU RNs work collaboratively with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Key Responsibilities

โ€ข Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, including vital signs, neurological status, cardiac rhythms, and response to treatment.
โ€ข Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and critical care treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
โ€ข Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, and dialysis machines.
โ€ข Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, emergencies, and code situations.
โ€ข Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans for critically ill patients.
โ€ข Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
โ€ข Educate patients and family members regarding diagnoses, procedures, medications, and post-discharge care.
โ€ข Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with infection control standards, patient safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and hospital policies.
โ€ข Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and competency training.

Qualifications

โ€ข Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state.
โ€ข Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required/preferred.
โ€ข Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
โ€ข Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
โ€ข Critical care or ICU nursing experience preferred.
