Location: Wilson, NC (Onsite)
Assignment Length: ~6 Months
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Position: Packaging Technician
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packaging Technician to support pharmaceutical packaging operations in a cGMP-regulated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently setting up, operating, and cleaning packaging equipment while adhering to strict regulatory and quality guidelines (cGMP, SOPs, FDA, DEA).
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in oral solid dose (OSD) packaging, including serialization, and thrives in a fast-paced production setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Follow Master Batch Records for packaging controlled oral solid dose (OSD) and other dosage forms.
  • Safely set up, operate, troubleshoot, and clean packaging equipment per SOPs and batch records.
  • Perform in-process quality inspections and testing during production.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, components, parts, and production rooms.
  • Complete accurate documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Properly process labels and components: FIFO, counting, transferring, and returns.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and work overtime as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Understanding of the metric system.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Commitment to quality, compliance, and operational excellence.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in OSD pharmaceutical packaging.
  • Experience with serialization equipment and processes.
  • Previous manufacturing or packaging experience in a regulated industry.

Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to climb stairs, step ladders, and platforms as needed.
  • Must be able to wear PPE, including a Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
  • Ability to push/pull and maneuver drums, totes, pallets, and boxes (up to 275 lbs with assistance).
  • Lift up to 40 lbs multiple times daily; handle equipment parts up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to visually inspect tablets/capsules for shape, size, color, and surface defects.
  • Perform assembly/disassembly of equipment involving pulling, pushing, and twisting.
  • Work a 10.5-hour shift, 4 days per week, with overtime as required.

Minimum Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years of pharmaceutical or packaging industry experience preferred, or equivalent combination of mechanical skill and relevant similar industry experience.
  • Required: Hands on experience in oral solid dose (OSD) packaging, including serialization, and production setting.
