Aerogen Pharma is a US based clinical-stage specialty pharmaceutical company with a mission to develop inhaled drug/biologic and device combination that will transform the standard of care for acute and critically ill patients. We are embarking on an exciting and dynamic stage in our combination product development, moving into phase 3 clinical trial for one of the biggest breakthroughs in Neonatal care. We are a team of passionate industry experts who are leading, shaping, and driving a potentially transformative medical breakthrough for the treatment of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in the developed world. Additionally, in partnership with The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, we have an ambitious program in development to bring low-cost surfactant to the millions of premature babies with RDS born each year.

What is the role?

The Procurement Manager โ€“ Drug and Device/Drug Combination Products is a strategically focused role within Procurement & Supply Chain, responsible for developing and executing sourcing and supplier strategies for pharmaceutical products, including deviceโ€“drug combination categories. The role partners closely with Technical, Quality, Supply Chain, and internal/external consultants to translate regulatory and product requirements into resilient, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain solutions, while progressively taking on hands-on operational execution.

What are the key responsibilities?
  • Develop and own category and supplier strategies for pharmaceutical and deviceโ€“drug combination products.
  • Establish end-to-end supply risk visibility, mitigation plans, and long-term sourcing roadmaps.
  • Lead supplier segmentation, market analysis, and sourcing strategy development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key pharma, device, and contract manufacturing partners.
  • Partner with Technical and Quality teams to integrate specifications, validation, and lifecycle requirements into sourcing decisions.
  • Design logistics and supply strategies aligned with regulatory, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, contracting, and ongoing supplier relationship management.
  • Manage supplier performance across quality, delivery, service, cost, and compliance dimensions.
  • Support logistics execution, inventory planning, and resolution of operational supply issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain activities.
What education and experience are required?
  • Experience with deviceโ€“drug combination products or complex, multi-component regulated products.
  • Exposure to global category strategy development and multi-year sourcing roadmaps.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs/CDMOs).
  • Familiarity with pharma logistics, cold chain, or controlled supply flows.
  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
What key skills will make you great at the role?
  • Proven procurement or strategic sourcing experience within pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of regulated supply environments and supplier compliance requirements, including FDA regulations, cGMP, GDP, and related quality and regulatory standards.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, negotiations, and contracts.
  • Ability to translate technical, quality, and regulatory requirements into effective sourcing strategies.
  • Hands-on experience supporting operational procurement and supply chain execution.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract law, procurement regulations, laws, sustainability best practices, and category management principles.
