Upcoming Major Championships:
Within the first three years of opening, Fields Ranch at PGA Frisco has hosted the 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, PGA Junior League Championship in 2023, 2024 and 2025, PGA Professional Championship in 2024, KPMG Women's PGA Championship in 2025, and Junior PGA Championship in 2026. In the next 10 years, Fields Ranch will host 4 major Championships, including the PGA Championship (2027, 2034), Senior PGA Championship (2029), and KPMG Women's PGA Championship (2031); As well as 15 Championships including PGA Junior League through 2034, the Boys & Girls Junior PGA Championship, PGA Cup, and National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship.
This role is an integral part of a high-volume, high-performing golf operation and offers significant hands-on leadership experience. Reporting
to the Head Golf Professional, the Assistant Professional supports the daily functions of golf operations while contributing to a service culture centered on excellence, professionalism, and guest engagement. Strong organizational discipline, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
Fields Ranch employs a distinctive developmental model for its Assistant Professional team. Each Assistant assumes direct oversight of a specific operational area for a full annual cycle, with assignments rotating at the end of each year. This structure is intentionally designed to provide meaningful management responsibility, allow each Assistant to take full ownership of their assigned area, and build the operational acumen required for future leadership positions within the golf industry. Through this approach, Assistant Professionals gain comprehensive exposure, expanded accountability, and a strong foundation to advance their careers.
The following roles have been identified within the Golf Operations department:
Tournament Manager - Directly leads a large tournament program for both courses, including corporate, client and charity outings. This Professional will work closely with the Omni Resort Sales Team and clients to execute golf events of the highest caliber.
Golf Group Manager - Serve as primary liaison for all "Buddy" Golf Groups, working closely with teams on campus to organize and execute an elevated and personalized golf experience for coordinated golf groups.
Player Services Professional - Directly manages and oversees the Player Services Team (Outside Services). This team can grow to as many as 70 individuals while in season. This Professional works closely with the Associate Services Team to ensure proper onboarding, training, and management of this large team, while delivering excellent service to our guests. Also oversees proper cart fleet management and maintenance and supports a complex driving range operation.
On-Course Assistant - Manages the on-course experience for our guests, which includes the direct oversight of our on-course player assistants, pace of play management, and positive guest engagement.
Golf Shop - Oversees the Golf Shop Staff, ensuring proper billing & organization for guest check in, as well as consistent and proper communication to all guests in advance of play. Plays a large role in the Golf Shop inventory and retail management.
The District - Directly oversees and manages the Swing, our 10-hole lighted short course, as well as the group events and tournaments on both the Swing and Dance Floor, our two-acre putting green. This Professional works closely with the Omni Resorts Sales and Resort Events team to provide unique programming and events for our guests utilizing the District spaces. This role also supports in the daily management of the Player Services team and driving range operational oversight.
While each Professional directly oversees a specific role, they support and assist with all areas of the operation as needed.
Our Team: Our Golf Professional Staff consists of Director of Golf Paul Earnest, PGA, Head Golf Professional Trish Holt, PGA, six (6) Assistant Golf Professionals and one (1) Assistant In Training. This management team effectively oversees 90-130 associates to coordinate the needs of this large operation.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head Golf Professional and the Director of Golf & Operations in executing all aspects of the daily golf operation, ensuring a consistently high standard of service and efficiency.
  • Oversee Associate teams and daily operational management, ensuring excellent service, presentation, and preparation. Anticipate and follow up on needs, taking ownership and accountability with strong follow through.
  • Contribute to the planning, initiation, and promotion of golf activities and programming for Resort guests and Club 1916 members, fostering engagement and an exceptional on-course experience.
  • Deliver elevated guest service by anticipating needs, providing informed guidance, and upholding a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Perform and uphold operational requirements across sales, equipment rentals, tournament preparation, golf group coordination, and related guest services.
  • Provide direct leadership to hourly teams within Player Services, On-Course Player Assistance, and Golf Shop Operations, ensuring accountability, performance, and alignment with service standards.
  • Actively participate in process improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance operational standards, guest satisfaction, and team efficiency.
  • Engage in daily stand-up meetings, monthly departmental meetings, and maintain proactive, clear communication with cross-functional partners throughout the Omni Resort.
  • Assist with inventory management, including physical counts, variance reporting, and merchandise organization.
  • Complete all company-required training programs and demonstrate ongoing commitment to professional development.

Qualifications:
  • PGA Member strongly preferred; Minimum PGA program completion of Level 2 or higher required; A college degree is preferred but not required.
    • Demonstrated aptitude for leadership with the interest and willingness to develop supervisory skills, support teams, and contribute to a high-performing operation.
    • Strong service orientation with the ability to build rapport, communicate effectively with guests and colleagues, and represent the operation with professionalism and enthusiasm.
    • Highly organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities while learning new systems, processes, and best practices.
    • Foundational experience with golf operations systems-such as tournament management platforms, Visage, or EZ Locator-and a strong capacity to learn and adapt to Omni Hotels & Resorts technology and procedures.
    • Exposure to, or strong interest in, tournament operations, group programming, and daily golf operations within a premium environment.
    • Proven ability to remain composed, collaborative, and solutions-oriented in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, with a desire to grow through hands-on experience and coaching.
