Job description

1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm
2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm
Position Summary
The Toolmaker is responsible for fabricating, maintaining, and repairing tooling, dies, and fixtures to support manufacturing operations. This role works from blueprints, CAD files, and specifications to produce precision tooling, ensuring parts meet exact tolerances and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Tooling Fabrication and Repair
  • Build and repair dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operate precision machine tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines.
  • Inspect finished tools to ensure they meet design and quality requirements.

Preventive Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance on existing tooling to extend life and maintain performance.
  • Document and track tooling maintenance activities.

Collaboration
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve tooling-related issues.
  • Provide input on tool design improvements for manufacturability and efficiency.

Quality and Safety
  • Ensure all work complies with company safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety requirements.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or technical school in tool and die making preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in tool and die making within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents.
  • Skilled in the use of manual and CNC machine tools.
  • Strong understanding of materials, heat treatment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
