Job description

A Pet Store / Kennel Manageroversees daily retail and boarding operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, profitability and staff, animal welfare. Key duties include hiring and training staff, managing inventory, sales, kennel staff schedules, ensuring high sanitation standards, monitoring pet health, administering medication, handling customer service for drop-offs/pick-ups, and ensuring compliance with animal welfare regulations and safety protocols.

Experience:Generally requires 1-2 years of retail leadership experience. Previous experience in a kennel, animal shelter, or veterinary setting, along with supervisory experience.

Knowledge:Strong understanding of pet care, animal welfare regulations, and retail operations. Understanding of animal behavior, diseases, and proper husbandry practices.

Skills:Leadership, communication, inventory management software, and POS systems.

Flexibility:Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (e.g., pet food), and work in an environment with animals. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long hours, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Animal Care & Safety:Ensure proper feeding, watering, exercise, and care for animals, including identifying medical or behavioral issues.
