Job description

Our experienced animal care leads provide loving care for our pet guests while they stay and play in our pet hotel; focusing on safety, comfort, and cleanliness. This position is a stepping stone for the Animal Care Manager role.

We are an Employee-owned and operated company that is expanding, which provides many growth opportunities within the company. We currently have over 80 locations in twenty-six states coast-to-coast and have been in business for 30 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and maintenance of pet suites, condos, general boarding areas, and kitchen
  • Feeding and watering pet guests
  • Monitoring and charting every pet guest
  • Monitoring pet belongings
  • Laundering duties
  • Assisting other associates and performing other duties as needed

Education:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-year animal care/kennel experience.
  • Animal Care Technician Certified
  • Playtime Certified

Physical:

  • Must be able to work evenings weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to be on feet eight hours per day.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
  • Must be able to work on computer system.
  • Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation. chemicals, animal dander and excretions.

Personal:

  • Must have the ability to resolve problems quickly and professionally.
  • Must have the ability to supervise, motivate and counsel Associates.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess a love of animals.
  • Displays a professional manner at all times.

In accordance with Massachusetts pay transparency requirements, the compensation range for this position is $17.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and other business-related factors. This position may also be eligible for commissions, bonuses, incentives, and additional benefits where applicable.
