Position Purpose

As a Formulist at Farmina, your role is pivotal in ensuring the development and maintenance of high-quality, nutritious, and palatable pet food products. Your primary responsibility lies in formulating recipes that align with our company's standards of excellence, while also meeting regulatory requirements and customer preferences.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Research and Development, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Marketing to translate market insights, nutritional guidelines, and ingredient availability into innovative and competitive product formulations. Requirements

  • Must have worked as a Formulist within Food Industry (Required) Pet Food Industry (Preferred)
  • Veterinary Degree in Small Animal Nutrition (PHD Preferred)
  • Work experience in Foodformulation (Required) Pet Food formulation (Preferred)
  • Excellent Computer and Analytic Skills
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of quality control of products of the factory;


Key Responsibilities

  • Harmonizes product formulas with the required product quality standards;
  • Works with regulatory inspectors;
  • Cooperates with external laboratories;
  • Connects recipes with production software;
  • Confirms the eligibility of the application of new raw materials in recipes
  • Follows the legal regulations regarding the diet of pets
  • Is a member of the food safety team;
  • Monitors work processes and reports about any irregularities;
  • Respects and enforces the standards, rules, procedures and instructions of the Company and actively participates in the adoption, modification and implementation thereof;
  • Implements established measures according to regulations and acts on safety and health at work and environmental protection, fire protection and applies the prescribed means of personal protection;
  • Shows commitment to the implementation and development of FSMS.
  • Develops organizational culture by raising awareness of FSMS.
  • Integrates the requirements of FSMS into the business processes of the organization.
  • Participates in the development of employee competencies.

Participates in risk prevention, nonconformity management and risk analysis.

Collaborates with R&D and Procurement teams in the development of new product formulations.

Investigate nutritional deviations in formulations based on laboratory reports, collaborating with Industrial and Quality teams to define and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Updates raw material cost structures monthly and report updated financial data to the global team.

Optimizes formulation costs on a project basis, adapting compositions according to business needs and raw material availability.

Proposes formulation enhancements to ensure technical feasibility and optimize manufacturing process efficiency.

Actively participates in cross-functional meetings and projects with Global Formulation and Quality teams, driving the implementation of proposed global operational improvements.

Stays updated on legislative and regulatory changes that may impact product formulations.
