Job description

As a Pest Specialist you will provide pest control for residential homes and commercial establishments by identifying potential pest problems, conducting inspections, while designing and implementing control strategies to resolve all of a customer's pest control needs.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Being prompt to scheduled appointments.
  • Inspect the property, determine problem, and implement the most effective solution.
  • Identify different species of roaches, rodents, ants, and other household pests
  • Operate and maintain spraying equipment, bait gun, power fogger and other equipment for applying pesticides
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations governing pesticide application.
  • Document/Record all information by filling out all company inspection forms, in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and office staff.
  • Thoroughly and efficiently gather customer information, access and fulfill customer needs, educate the customer where applicable in order to prevent future pest infestations
  • Participate in routine maintenance of Company vehicle and equipment.
  • Practice workplace safety procedures as outlined in the Company's Safety Manual.
  • Operate company vehicle in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
  • Clean vehicles as scheduled and/or required.
  • Dress Professionally. Maintain company uniforms in neat and professional manner. Follow company dress code.
  • Communicate with Manager immediately if questions arise in the field concerning treatment protocols.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able to identify common household pests and WDOs
  • Knowledge of proper treatment methods for pests
  • Knowledge of inspections requirements for WDOs and pest problems in residences and commercial establishments
  • Ability to perform recommended treatments
  • Knowledge of residential, commercial, and remodeling construction and building techniques
  • Comfortable wearing safety equipment including respirator, goggles, etc.
  • Comfortable in small, confined spaces (i.e. crawlspaces)
  • Able to safely operate a vehicle
  • Reading, legible & accurate writing, and drawing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with all equipment used to execute treatments
  • Basic math skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possess current Driver License in the state where you work and maintain a driving record consistent with company standards
  • High school degree or equivalent experience
  • Present a professional appearance including wearing an approved uniform
  • Able to work a 40-hour work week
  • Drug-free workplace
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check

Compensation

  • Paid training provided at a competitive salary rate. After training, employees transition to a compensation structure that pays the greater of hourly earnings or commission, offering strong earning potential and income stability.
