Job description

Objective
We are seeking a highly responsible and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Isotope Courier. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of radioactive pharmaceuticals and medical supplies between our manufacturing facility and various healthcare entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent organizational skills, the ability to adhere to strict regulatory guidelines, and an excellent driving record.
Essential Functions
  1. Safe and Timely Transportation:
    • Safely transport radioactive pharmaceuticals and medical supplies between the manufacturing site and healthcare facilities.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing the transportation of radioactive materials.
    • Ensure timely delivery of the correct package to the correct location.
    • Early mornings will be required on a regular basis.
  2. Quality Assurance:
    • Maintain the integrity and quality of radioactive pharmaceuticals during transportation.
    • Adhere to established protocols for handling and transporting radioactive materials.
  3. Documentation:
    • Complete accurate and detailed documentation for all transportation activities, including bills of lading, manifests, logs, and any other required regulatory paperwork.
    • Communicate any discrepancies or issues immediately to the appropriate personnel.
  4. Communication:
    • Collaborate with operations team and healthcare staff to coordinate delivery schedules and address any special handling requirements.
    • Communicate effectively with healthcare facilities when making deliveries.
  5. Safety Compliance:
    • Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to ensure the well-being of yourself, coworkers, and the public.
    • Participate in regular safety training sessions and stay informed about updates to safety protocols.
  6. Vehicle Maintenance:
    • Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order.
    • Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
 Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of and strict adherence to all relevant transportation and safety regulations.
  • Ability to pass any required background checks and obtain necessary certifications.
  • Ability to pass drug screen.
  • Ability to accommodate shift changes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education/Experience
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical or medical transportation.
  • Familiarity with medical operations.
  • Certification in the transportation of hazardous materials.
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads up to 65 pounds.
  • Physical agility to access and navigate healthcare facilities.
