Job Summary
The Personal Training Manager’s primary goal is to maximize member participation in, and retention of, our paid Personal Training Services by exceeding both new client acquisition and existing client retention goals.
The Personal Training Manager achieves this by:
  • Leading and coaching the front-end selling process of the CrunchOne Kickoff
  • Overseeing and coaching the delivery of personal training services
  • “Owning” the client journey from initial engagement through paid program participation
Additionally, the Personal Training Manager upholds company standards by leading by example, ensuring team members consistently maintain punctuality, dress code compliance, friendliness, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
  • Actively sell by performing at least 50% of all CrunchOne Kickoffs
  • Coach, role-play, and guide personal trainer direct reports on effective selling strategies
  • Manage schedules and allocate resources according to KPI performance
  • Ensure proper execution and communication of the Client Journey, emphasizing the first 90 days
  • Ensure all Personal Trainers deliver high-quality, scientifically-backed programs
  • Oversee accurate administration of Personal Training Services, including dotFit usage, goal tracking, program design, measurements, and progress reports
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of qualified Personal Trainers
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to review performance, provide guidance, and motivate achievement of individual and company goals
  • Maintain performance reports and business metrics for clarity and decision-making
  • Communicate insights and improvement plans to the General Manager
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Personal Training techniques and program design
  • Sales, communication, and rapport-building skills
  • Proficient in Crunch programs and platforms: VFP, dotFit, ABC/Datatrak, Crunch U, Styku, etc.
  • Ability to safely operate all club equipment
  • Experience in coaching and motivating groups
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and professional attitude with a member-focused mindset
  • Ability to respond professionally to members, guests, and staff
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Current CPR certification
Certifications (One or More Required)
  • ACSM Certified Personal Trainer
  • ACE Personal Trainer Certification
  • The Cooper Institute Personal Trainer Certification
  • IFPA Personal Fitness Trainer Certification

Experience
  • 1–2 years as a Personal Training Manager preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in the club office, move around club floors and rooms, and communicate with employees, members, and the public
  • Regularly demonstrate or explain physical fitness activities, techniques, and procedures
