Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Personal Lines Insurance Producer to join our team. This position is ideal for a motivated, relationship-focused insurance professional who enjoys helping clients understand their coverage options, building new business, and working within a supportive independent-agency environment.

The producer will develop new client relationships, identify appropriate personal insurance solutions, and support the continued growth and retention of the agency’s book of business.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified personal lines prospects.
  • Present and sell personal insurance products to new and existing clients.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and recommend appropriate coverage options.
  • Clearly explain coverages, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and available policy options.
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, applications, and supporting documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Cross-sell appropriate personal lines products based on each client’s needs.
  • Develop referral relationships and expand the agency’s reach through networking and community involvement.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects and document activities in HawkSoft.
  • Support client retention by building trusted, long-term relationships.
  • Maintain current knowledge of carrier products, underwriting guidelines, industry trends, and insurance regulations.
  • Meet established production and activity goals while following agency procedures and ethical sales practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Property and Casualty insurance license.
  • Proven personal lines insurance sales or producer experience.
  • Strong understanding of homeowners, auto, umbrella, renters, and other personal insurance products.
  • Ability to assess client needs and recommend coverage clearly and responsibly.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects, clients, and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to honest, client-focused service.

Ideal Candidate

  • Five or more years of experience as an insurance producer.
  • Experience working for an independent insurance agency and comparing options from multiple carriers.
  • Working knowledge of HawkSoft (our agency management software).
  • An established approach to prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship building.
  • A record of meeting production goals while providing thoughtful, consultative service.

Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)
Plus a 1-hour lunch break
