The primary purpose of this Personal Banker position is to assist Beacon Credit Union in living out our mission, "Dedicated to Our Member's Financial Success," by delivering outstanding service to both internal and external members. A key component of this service delivery is to identify the financial needs of each member and recommend an appropriate Credit Union solution.

In addition, the Personal Banker processes and closes consumer loan applications approved by the Centralized Lending Department, ensuring all required documentation is gathered. They understand the five C's of credit and Beacon CU's policies, meet monthly sales and loan goals, are knowledgeable about Beacon CU's products and services, and apply the Mike Neill techniques to achieve success.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that each approved application is closed using Beacon CU's lending standards. The lending specialist will submit all loan requests with accuracy and timeliness. Have an understanding to ensure each loan is underwritten to Beacon's policies and procedures. Any loan approved outside of guidelines must have proper signatures for approval. Must meet and exceed loan and sales goals monthly. Understands and applies the principles of the 5 C's of Credit, Understands how to counsel members/customers on improving their financial position.
  • Is knowledgeable and understands all of Beacon CU's products and services. Responsible for increasing product and service penetration with current as well as potential members. Understand and follow the guidelines set forth in our sales module (Mike Neill) to fulfill our mission statement and service standards to every member every time.
  • Review completed loan packages prior to funding of the loan. Review and compliance completed loan packages before sending to loan review.
  • Act in the capacity of a Teller when requested. Must understand all applicable teller policies and procedures. Use the Mike Neill methods. Mission statement, and service standards are met while on the teller line to ensure every member every time is our standard.
  • Follow all applicable regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, Reg CC, and Anti-money Laundering. Adheres to all SAFE ACT regulations.
  • Deliver outstanding service to external and internal members in alignment with the Credit Union's service standards.
  • All other duties assigned by management.
