Job Title: Bus Person/Assistant Server

Status: Non-EXEMPT

Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager

The Bus Person / Assistant Server supports the service team by ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient dining environment that enhances the overall guest experience.

Position Summary:

The Bus Person / Assistant Server plays a key role in supporting servers and maintaining smooth front-of-house operations. This position ensures that tables are properly set, cleared, and reset quickly, while assisting with food delivery and guest needs. The role is essential in delivering a seamless and elevated dining experience.

Team members are expected to embody Meyer Jabara Hotels' J Quality Behaviors: Joy, Jump, Join, by demonstrating passion for hospitality, proactive service, and collaboration in every guest and colleague interaction.

Service Support Duties

  • Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly and efficiently
  • Assist servers with food and beverage delivery as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and restrooms
  • Refill water, bread, and other table items as directed
  • Stock service stations with necessary supplies (silverware, glassware, linens, etc.)
  • Assist in polishing glassware, silverware, and plates
  • Support opening and closing side work duties
  • Respond promptly to guest requests in a courteous and professional manner
  • Collaborate with servers, kitchen, and bar staff to ensure smooth service
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Education:

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements
