Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator with a business partner mindset to support and maintain a mission-critical production environment working primarily out of our Forest Grove mill and supporting initiatives as needed across the Company.
This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent people skills, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will serve as a site liaison between the mill and the broader IT department and support both local and remote facilities while ensuring system reliability and uptime.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the onsite IT site liaison, working closely with operations, and corporate IT and onsite OT Teams to meet the systems needs of the Forest Grove mill location and its user group while also providing support for the Company's other locations when needed.
  • Demonstrate strong networking skills; including network design, integration between IT and OT networks, understanding and programming of switches and firewalls
  • Maintain documentation, diagrams, and procedures for systems and network configurations
  • Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and related hardware
  • Be nimble and adaptable, able to change priorities and direction based on operational needs
  • Provide on-call support and take calls at all hours during downtime or system emergencies
  • Travel to other mill locations as needed to support infrastructure, projects, or outages
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with technical and non-technical staff
  • Administer, maintain, and support Active Directory environments, including users, groups, policies, and permissions with a focus on the mill user group.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High level of proficiency in networking concepts, including routing, switching, and firewall configuration
  • Excellent people interaction and communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Flexibility to support after-hours and on-call responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a cross-functional environment to address system outages
  • Willingness and ability to travel to multiple sites
  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory administration

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and willingness with working hand-in-hand with IT users on-site at their location. This is not a remote desk-job.
  • Experience in industrial IT environments
  • Familiarity with high-availability systems and uptime-critical operations
  • Proven networking competency, including experience in effectively designing and maintaining networks that are reliable, durable, and secure using least-privileged access principles.

Work Environment
  • Will require walking production floors, walking up and down stairs, lifting, and working in industrial environments.
  • On-site and field-based work in mill and production settings

Off-hours work required during system downtime
