Job description

A remote opportunity is available for a Pharmacist with a strong clinical background to support a call center specializing in Clinical Medication Therapy Management (MTM) consulting. This 14-week contract position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm, with the potential for direct hire upon completion.

Location:

  • Remote (originally based in Irving, TX)

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 11:30 am – 7:30 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Review prescriptions for therapeutic interchanges and ensure the suitability of medicines prescribed to patients.
  • Accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal regulations.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-usage.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring proper management of pharmacy files.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, storage, and interactions.
  • Provide clinical consultations involving prescription and non-prescription medications.
  • Deliver patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for internal or external use when required.
  • Identify drug-related problems and collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
  • Valid Texas pharmacy license
  • Strong clinical experience and knowledge in medication therapy management
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
