The Lab Analyst Intern supports the Quality Control and Fragrance Laboratory by assisting with routine testing, documentation, and laboratory operations. This internship provides hands-on exposure to QC analysis, laboratory equipment, data entry, and industry-standard quality and safety practices within a regulated manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

  • Perform basic quality control tests including Specific Gravity, Refractive Index, Optical Rotation, Aldehydes, Acid Value, Flash Point, Solubility, and pH testing.
  • Assist in evaluating sensory characteristics of materials, including odor, color, and physical appearance.
  • Enter samples, test results, and related data into the Quality Control database.
  • Support generation of Certificates of Analysis for customer and internal use.
  • Assist with setup of samples on GC auto-sampler sequence files.
  • File batch production samples and raw material retention samples.
  • Scan and organize completed batch records and vendor Certificates of Analysis.
  • Assist with preparation of testing solutions and reagents.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory equipment and work areas.
  • Learn and comply with SQF principles, laboratory procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow all safety, GMP, and company policies at all times.
  • Support the company in achieving established quality, compliance, and laboratory performance goals.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related discipline required.

  • Preferred fields of study include Chemistry, Food Science, Environmental Science, or related sciences.

  • Prior laboratory coursework or academic lab experience preferred but not required.  


SKILLS and/or PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong interest in learning laboratory techniques and quality control processes.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with diverse work groups.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.

  • Positive, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Good computer skills with proficiency in Windows-based operating systems.

  • Aptitude for basic data analysis and interpretation of laboratory results.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
