Position Details
Title Postdoctoral Fellow - Ye Lab Appointment Status Non-Tenure Track Department IU Bloomington Chemistry Location Bloomington Position Summary
The Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts + Sciences at Indiana University, consists of a well-rounded research community with cutting-edge expertise in a wide variety of modern disciplines including analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, and biochemistry.
A postdoc position is available for the design, synthesis, and electron microscopy characterization of nanomaterials for applications in heterogenous catalysis and plasmonics. In this federally funded project, the postdoc will collaborate with scientists at other US institutions and National Laboratories to pursue cutting-edge scientific research.
The incumbent will have the opportunity to participate in professional development activities according to their professional goals. These include grant writing opportunities, seminars and conference attendance.
Basic Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or related field by the time of starting this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be an expert in one of the following areas including but not limited to: (1) nanocrystal synthesis and characterization, (2) electrochemistry, (3) catalysis, (4) analytical or in-situ electron microscopy. The candidate will possess a creative, analytical approach to problem solving, the ability to work independently and the willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations.

Additional Qualifications Salary and Rank $48,000.00/Postdoctoral Fellow Special Instructions
The initial appointment for this position will be for 12 months. Additional 12-month extension will be available based on performance. A competitive salary along with a benefits package will be offered.
