THE POSITION
The Educational Statistics Associate role with the Bureau of Special Education offers an exciting opportunity to guide major data projects that support the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Special Education reporting. You will have the opportunity to work with dedicated professionals who rely on your expertise to keep data accurate and accessible. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the management of IDEA and Special Education data through strong analysis, reporting, and collaboration with various partners. Your work helps ensure accurate information guides decisions at the state and federal levels. As an Educational Statistics Associate, you will perform the following duties:
  • Data Identification: Review reporting requirements and determine information needed for IDEA and Special Education systems
  • System Development: Set up data collection processes and support staff in their use
  • Report Preparation: Develop correspondence and produce required state and federal reports
  • Training Support: Provide guidance to staff and stakeholders on reporting requirements and data tools
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work with agencies and partners to address reporting needs and maintain communication

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office on Tuesday each week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of professional statistical analysis experience which includes or is supplemented by one year of professional education experience; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes or is supplemented by one year of professional education experience.
