Job description

TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Dermatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time permanent opportunity with a growing rural health dermatology practice in North Carolina. This position focuses exclusively on medical dermatology and offers the opportunity to build long-term patient relationships while expanding access to dermatologic care in underserved communities.

Practice Environment
Rural health and community-focused practice
Modern outpatient clinical setting
Opportunity to establish long-term patient relationships
Focus on evidence-based medical dermatology care
Providers will work independently onsite
Supervising Board-Certified Dermatologist available remotely via phone and Zoom
No onsite dermatology team for training or collaboration
Ideal for experienced, self-directed providers comfortable practicing independently
Clinical Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluations and full-body skin exams
Diagnose and manage:
Acne
Eczema
Psoriasis
Rosacea
Dermatitis
Fungal infections
Rashes
Skin cancers and precancerous lesions
Perform dermatologic procedures including:
Shave biopsies
Punch biopsies
Excisional biopsies
Cryotherapy
Lesion removal
Wound care management
Interpret dermatopathology and diagnostic testing
Develop treatment plans collaboratively with supervising physicians
Prescribe medications and therapies
Provide patient education on skin health and disease prevention
Maintain accurate EMR documentation
Requirements
Masterโ€™s degree from an accredited NP or PA program
Active North Carolina NP or PA license
National certification required
Required: Minimum 1 year of dermatology experience (post clinical rotations) under a Board-Certified Dermatologist
Strong procedural and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Must be enrolled or have prior enrollment in Medicare/Medicaid
Required: DCNP or CAQโ€‘Derm credentials or eligible to complete within 12 months of hire.
Note: Nurse Practitioners may pursue the DCNP credential through the Dermatology Nursing Certification Board, which requires 3,000 hours of dermatology NP experience within the past 3 years. Only dermatologyโ€‘specific hours apply; experience gained through a formal dermatology NP residency/fellowship or supervised dermatology practice may count toward this requirement.
Physician Assistants may pursue advanced dermatology certification through the NCCPAโ€™s CAQโ€‘Derm program, which requires 4,000 hours of dermatology PAโ€‘C experience earned within the six years prior to attestation.
Dermatology candidates who are DCNP or CAQ-Derm certified and have the experience, will start at a base of $200,000 plus bonus structure. Once a candidate garners their DCNP or CAQ-Derm certifications within 12 months of employment, clinicians will be tiered up to the Certified Salary amount.
 
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with biopsies, cryotherapy, and lesion removal
Familiarity with dermatoscopy and EMR systems
Interest in rural healthcare and continuity of care
Prior independent dermatology practice experience strongly preferred
