Automation Controls Engineer - High?Impact Manufacturing Role
Join a fast?moving manufacturing environment where you'll own automation improvements, drive major capital projects, and play a key role in launching new product lines. This role is perfect for someone who loves solving problems, building smarter systems, and making a visible impact on plant performance.
What You'll Do
  • Design and implement electrical controls hardware and software for continuous improvement projects across the plant.
  • Manage, optimize, and troubleshoot PLC and auxiliary software for all production equipment.
  • Support manufacturing teams by training technicians and leading root?cause investigations on downtime events.
  • Partner with launch teams to review designs and ensure smooth startup of new product lines.
  • Participate in vendor build events and provide feedback to ensure equipment is Job?1 ready.
  • Identify new CI opportunities and build cost?benefit analyses to justify projects.
  • Oversee vendor installations and verify equipment meets safety, quality, and throughput standards.
  • Lead root?cause analysis on defects and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Coordinate cross?functional teams to develop the best solutions for production challenges.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical associate's degree.
  • At least five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with injection molding or high?speed automation (preferred).
  • Strong PLC programming skills (Allen?Bradley, Omron, Beckhoff).
  • Vision system experience (Cognex, Keyence).
  • Ability to read, create, and maintain electrical schematics.
  • Project and vendor management experience.
  • A technical, analytical mindset with strong root?cause and corrective?action skills.
  • Ability to run cost?benefit analyses and justify improvements.
  • Solid understanding of electro?mechanical systems.

Bonus Skills
  • Machining and fabrication knowledge (milling, drilling, welding, etc.).
  • Experience with continuous?motion automation.
  • Ability to analyze and clean data in Excel.
  • High?speed automation service experience.
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes.
