Job description

Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P) — Relocation Assistance to Colorado

Position Location: Denver, CO

Employment Status: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Employer

Advance your aviation career with a premier, highly active general aviation service facility based in the booming Denver metro area. Managing a high-utilization lineup of modern piston aircraft—including Cirrus, Cessna, and Beechcraft platforms—our forward-thinking team is actively diversifying into turboprop maintenance and cutting-edge electric aviation. As we systematically pave the way toward a formal Part 145 repair station certification, we provide a structured, supportive, and growth-oriented environment. This is an ideal destination for skilled Las Vegas talent ready to trade the desert basin for a lower-temperature, high-altitude career pivot in the Rocky Mountains.

Compensation, Shift Structure & Relocation Support
  • Hourly Compensation: $32.00 – $42.00 / hour (Base pay rate is established strictly based on your individual GA piston, sheet metal, and avionics credentials).

  • Relocation Package: Financial relocation assistance and moving support are available on a case-by-case basis to ensure your transition to Colorado is seamless.

  • Shift & Flexibility: 40-hour work weeks featuring adaptable scheduling models, including 4x10 configurations (enjoy a permanent 3-day weekend) or standard 5x8 schedules.

  • Premium Pay Rates: Regular opportunities for overtime are available, with on-call emergency AOG response and rotational weekend coverage compensated at premium rates.

  • Total Benefits Package: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance options; 401(k) retirement plan featuring a company matching program; flexible PTO; specialized shop tools and diagnostic equipment provided by the facility; and direct access to OEM factory training tracks for qualifying personnel.

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, this cross-functional role keeps an active piston fleet airworthy while building valuable depth in advanced structural modifications and modern glass-cockpit integration. This position is tailored for self-starting, meticulous mechanics who take deep pride in their documentation and safety habits, offering clear pathways into shop leadership.

Core Responsibilities
  • Execute top-tier scheduled phase inspections and rapid unscheduled line maintenance across a diverse fleet of light general aviation aircraft.

  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and rectify complex electrical faults and avionics anomalies with high diagnostic precision.

  • Perform and formally sign off on 100-hour and annual airframe inspections in strict compliance with 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91.

  • Contribute to major avionics modernization projects, including the installation of integrated GPS suites, digital autopilots, multi-function radios, and ADS-B systems.

  • Interpret, cross-reference, and apply Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), structural repair manuals, and engineering schematics.

  • Perform minor airframe structural repairs and sheet metal work as required by fleet flight-readiness demands.

  • Log all completed actions, parts changes, and regulatory compliance data accurately within the shop's digital tracking inventory system.

  • Participate in the shared on-call pool for weekend coverage and rapid AOG line-support events.

  • Maintain an immaculate, safe, and organized individual workspace to support proper hangar safety protocols.

Minimum Prerequisites
  • An active, unencumbered FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.

  • A minimum of 3 years of recent, active maintenance experience as a certificated mechanic working on light general aviation piston airframes (Cessna, Cirrus, Beechcraft, or direct equivalents).

  • Verifiable background successfully conducting and authorizing 100-hour inspections on light aircraft.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in electrical schematics, systems diagnostics, and basic avionics troubleshooting.

  • Thorough working knowledge of FAA regulations, specifically 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91.

  • Must own and maintain a personal set of basic aviation hand tools (specialized shop tools provided by the employer).

  • Physical capability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs, work comfortably in varied physical postures (climbing, bending, kneeling), and operate safely around typical aviation fuels, solvents, and hangar noise levels.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Active FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) credential.

  • Direct technical familiarity with Garmin G1000, Avidyne, or comparable integrated flight deck systems.

  • Background in corporate or fleet operations, high-cycle flight school environments, or busy regional repair stations.

  • Hands-on experience executing advanced structural sheet metal repairs.

  • Prior exposure to turboprop powerplants or corporate turboprop airframes.
