3D CT Imaging Processing Specialist

Job Description:
  • The 3D CT Imaging Processing Specialists support organizational performance measures, patient and customer satisfaction, clinical quality benchmarks, and operational and financial goals. This role actively participates in maintaining an environment that reflects and supports Aspirus philosophy, values, and standards of practice.
  • 3D CT Imaging Processing Specialists perform the duties of a CT Advanced Imaging Technologist as outlined in the corresponding job description, while serving as subject matter experts in 3D advanced visualization and postprocessing.
  • As an integral part of daily CT operations, 3D CT Imaging Processing Specialists provide advanced expertise in cardiac, vascular, and complex CT imaging services.
    • Responsibilities include supporting program growth, coordinating education and training, developing and refining scanning and postprocessing protocols, and ensuring overall workflow efficiency and effectiveness.
    • This work is accomplished through close collaboration with radiologists and CT technologists in Imaging Services, as well as with referring providers and service lines across the Aspirus enterprise.

  • In this role, 3D CT Imaging Processing Specialists perform advanced CT image postprocessing to generate high-quality 3D visualizations and quantitative analyses that support diagnostic accuracy, interventional planning, and surgical decision making.
  • The position partners closely with radiologists, cardiology, vascular surgery, neurology, orthopedics, and imaging informatics to optimize protocols, maintain efficient workflows, and ensure clinical accuracy, patient safety, and consistent outcomes.

Education Requirements
  • Knowledge of Imaging Services standards and procedures as they relate to Imaging Services and CT, and knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy normally acquired through education or job training.
  • Bachelor's degree is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the following is highly desired: cardiac flow, ejection and regurgitant fractions, valve anatomy, variations and common pathology that may be displayed in cardiac and vascular anatomy; or a willingness to learn on the job and via structured courses within 12 months of hire.
  • Willingness to continue to be involved in education to update skills and knowledge base as it pertains to cardiac and vascular imaging in CT scanning and 3D image post-processing techniques with the goal of remaining up to date with current trends and technologies.
  • Documented education and competency in cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical imaging post-processing.

Required Experience
  • Four years' hands-on professional experience in CT (including Advanced cardiovascular studies) and demonstrated experience with 3D post-processing tools.
  • Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced environments with ED/inpatient/outpatient caseloads and complex cases.
  • Vitrea experience is required

Required Licensure
  • ARRT (R)
  • ARRT (CT)
  • State of Wisconsin Licensed Radiographer license (WI Locations only)
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
