SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Area Manager, the Associate Manufacturing Engineer, will work with all facets of the organization to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations on Perlick’s manufacturing floor.  

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Evaluates current manufacturing and implements improvements by designing, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, materials, conferring with equipment vendors, and soliciting input from operators
  2. Assures product and in-process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards for production
  3. Assist CNC Programming to accelerate implementation of equipment and drive automation ecosystem
  4. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  5. Research, propose, and assist in implementing continuous improvement modifications of existing processes or equipment
  6. Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements for both current production and New Products
  7. Collaborates with production planning and supervisors to ensure that units are completed per the production schedule
  8. Assists other departments such Accounting, Design Engineering, Quality and Purchasing to solve manufacturing and production problems
  9. Provides work leadership and training
  10. Review routings for content and correctness, making corrections or updates as appropriate
  11. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-year degree in a related field, or 2-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in Process Analysis and Implementing changes and creating documentation
  • Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal fabricating equipment including lasers, turret punch presses, hydraulic brakes, welding, and assembly 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD a plus
  • Machine/PLC Programming Languages (Mazatrol, G code) a plus
  • Reading and interpretation drawings/blueprints, including geometric and close tolerances
  • Hands on experience with electronic and mechanical inspection equipment: dial calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, height stands, gage blocks and pin gages, thread gages, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Basic knowledge of Project Management principles and their application is a plus
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience a plus
