We are seeking an experienced Senior Perl Developer for a 3-month contract to enhance and modernize our account lifecycle management processes. Responsibilities

  • Analyze and enhance existing Perl applications that manage user accounts and email lifecycle processes.
  • Design and implement automated workflows for decommissioning email accounts while preserving required email data.
  • Develop solutions to archive or retain email data without maintaining inactive mailboxes indefinitely.
  • Create automated account aging processes to reduce unnecessary licensing costs.
  • Develop integrations that synchronize account and user data back to the Student Information System (SIS).
  • Design and implement secure provisioning processes for new user accounts.
  • Ensure account provisioning follows privacy and security best practices by creating new accounts rather than reusing previously assigned accounts.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize existing Perl code and related system integrations.
  • Produce clear technical documentation, including system architecture, workflows, code documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT stakeholders to ensure solutions align with organizational security, compliance, and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience integrating enterprise systems, directories, or identity management solutions.
  • Experience automating user account provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Experience working with email systems and account lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with Student Information Systems (SIS) or similar enterprise applications.
  • Strong debugging, scripting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create thorough technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, or LDAP.
  • Experience with identity and access management (IAM) concepts.
  • Experience developing automation scripts and scheduled jobs.
  • Familiarity with security and privacy best practices for user account management.
