Status: Salary Exempt
Expected Compensation Range: $55,000-65,000/annual
The salary range listed in this posting provides the current estimate for this position.
The specific salary offered to a selected candidate will be commensurate with work experience, education, relevant qualifications and skill level.

Age Requirements: Must be 21+
Additional Requirements: Must have open/flexible availability during the daytime. IL BASSET, IL Food Handler or Manager, Allergen Certification.

Role Summary:
The Arista Coffee amp; Café Manager is responsible for the daily leadership, service execution, and operational success of the café. This role maintains a strong presence on the floor, working alongside the team to ensure efficient operations, consistent product quality, and an exceptional guest experience.
The majority of time is spent in Arista Coffee amp; Café leading the barista team, supporting service, maintaining operational processes, and ensuring the café environment is clean, organized, and welcoming. When operational needs require, this role will also support other food and beverage outlets to ensure seamless service across the property.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee daily operations of Arista Coffee amp; Café to ensure efficient service and product consistency.
  2. Maintain strong floor presence and ensure opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures are followed.
  3. Lead, coach, and support baristas and café team members during service.
  4. Ensure team members follow service standards, dress code, grooming, and professionalism expectations.
  5. Create a welcoming guest environment through active engagement and leadership presence.
  6. Maintain beverage, pastry, and grab-and-go product quality and presentation.
  7. Monitor café inventory levels and communicate ordering needs.
  8. Ensure proper product rotation, storage, and organization of café supplies.
  9. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
  10. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and operational procedures.
  11. Provide operational support to other food amp; beverage outlets when needed.
Leadership Presence
  1. Maintain visible leadership on the café floor and remain actively engaged with the team and guests.
  2. Support baristas during peak periods to ensure service flow and guest satisfaction.
  3. Set the tone for professionalism, urgency, and hospitality within the café.
  4. Identify operational opportunities and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and guest experience.
Core Expectations
  1. Maintain strong leadership presence within the café.
  2. Support and develop team members through coaching and guidance.
  3. Ensure operational consistency, cleanliness, and guest service standards.
  4. Communicate effectively with team members and F amp;B leadership.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Manage waste and oversee purchasing to ensure expenses remain within budget while supporting profitability goals.
  2. Create, design, cost, and submit beverage menus in alignment with established guidelines and approved parameters.
  3. Oversee revenue reporting and support sales-driving initiatives, including upselling strategies and targeted incentives that promote high-profitability and perishable items.
  4. Develop creative sales programs such as late-day promotions, featured product pushes, and team incentives to maximize revenue and reduce waste.
  5. Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive set and current market trends to identify opportunities and support continued café growth.
  6. Work with Marketing team on outreach and promotion of the coffee shop
  7. Expand retail offering of grab and go / impulse items at the POS
  8. P amp;L responsibility and accountability

Minimum Qualifications:

Education
  1. College graduate or equivalent work experience.
  2. Illinois BASSET Certification required, Naperville BASSET preferred
  3. Illinois Food Handler Certification required
  4. ServSafe Manager amp; Allergan Certifications preferred

Experience
  1. Minimum of 1-2 years of management experience in a similar Hotel Coffee Shop environment
  2. Previous experience working in a luxury hotel environment is preferred
  3. Micros Simphony experience strongly preferred

Skills
  1. Excellent verbal and written skills
  2. Able to manage multiple tasks at all times and have excellent organizational skills.
  3. Able to manage all levels of associates including Supervisory and Line Level
  4. Proficient computer skills, including Micros
  5. Must be organized, self-motivated, and proactive.
  6. Neat and clean appearance
  7. Great enthusiasm and passion for making people happy.

Physical Requirements
