Position Purpose:
Assists with the planning, purchasing, installation, and preventive maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies. Functions as a liaison to other departments regarding anesthesia supplies and equipment. Assists the Department of Anesthesia with patient care. Maintains work and storage areas for the Department of Anesthesiology.
What the Perioperative Service Tech Will Do:
  • Performs preventive maintenance on anesthesia equipment, reports repairs needed, exchanges CO₂ absorber, assists with specialized equipment, and responds to anesthesia provider requests.

  • Collaborates with team members, maintains equipment/supply logs, cleans machines and carts daily and after each use, and ensures emergency supplies are stocked.

  • Assists with equipment tracking, requests maintenance as needed and responds promptly to pages.

  • Prepares rooms and sterile fields, works with Sterile Processing, verifies instruments/supplies, and prioritizes workflow.

  • Cleans and decontaminates instruments, educates ancillary staff, ensures safe transport, and performs other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Two years of experience in anesthesia.

  • Working knowledge of anesthesia equipment and procedures
