Job description

As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and maintaining oral health within the dental practice. Your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, educating patients on proper oral hygiene, and collaborating with the dental team to ensure comprehensive patient care.


  • Conduct thorough dental assessments, including reviewing medical histories and evaluating oral health conditions.
  • Perform screenings for oral cancer and other dental diseases.
  • Administer professional dental cleanings, including scaling, root planning, and prophylaxis.
  • Remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
  • Provide guidance on maintaining optimal oral health between dental visits.
  • Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases.
  • Collaborate with the dentist to develop treatment plans for patients with gum disease.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays as part of the diagnostic process.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols.
  • When appropriate, apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to prevent tooth decay.
