Job description

Windows Systems Administrator

Location: Suitland, MD

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Required

Leidos is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator III to support mission critical infrastructure in Suitland, MD. In this role, you will administer and maintain Windows server environments supporting enterprise infrastructure, standardized desktop services, and secure mission operations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing Microsoft technologies, troubleshooting complex systems, and maintaining secure, high availability Windows environments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage advanced Windows Server environments and Microsoft enterprise services.

  • Maintain daily system operations by monitoring, identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues affecting servers, applications, and operating systems.

  • Perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization to ensure reliable system performance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Windows Server issues.

  • Research, document, and recommend new system technologies and improvements.

  • Review and implement Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVBs).

  • Install, configure, secure, maintain, document, troubleshoot, and administer SQL databases to ensure optimal performance.

  • Support global operations by maintaining secure, resilient Windows infrastructure environments.

  • Travel may be required to support other U.S. Navy commands both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance (in DISS).

  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification and an active Windows Server operating system certification.

  • Extensive experience administering enterprise Windows environments, including Active Directory (AD), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Microsoft Exchange email services, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Remote Desktop Services, VMware, Omnissa, desktop management, and Windows Server services.

  • Experience performing advanced system troubleshooting.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
